It is also an opportunity for families to come down to the RWYC to meet Members and sort out training opportunities with Zoe and our new Centre Manager, Matthew Daly. Įaster is a good time to meet up with Flag Officers and Fleet Captains and get your boats on the water. If you have any difficulties, contact Ian Bertram. Much further information can be found on the Website. You will now find the Boat Park Plan, both on the Website and Club Noticeboard. Ian Bertram has been busy updating the Website. WEBSITE AND SAILING EVENTS, 2023 SAILING PROGRAMME Please volunteer for as many duties as you wish. Volunteering for Assistant Race Officer and Safety Boat duties, is a great way to meet Members.

The Duty Roster is an important part of what Members can do for the Club. The RWYC is run by volunteers who do their best to provide a great programme. Please be aware that temporary marks may be used during racing. During April, Steve Bewsher will be replacing them. The Winter has been particularly severe on our marks with many being lost or moved out of position. During April the Club is offering Power Boat and Refresher Courses for the Safety Boats. They had a great time, in spite of the weather, a lesson to us all! Matthew is looking forward to the forthcoming Season. Matthew Daly, our Centre Manager, has already welcomed students from Bangor University which the Royal Windermere Yacht Club has been hosting for the last five days in March. Our new Honorary Operations Secretary, Chris Garner, was elected at the Annual General Meeting. David Heron, our new Rear Commodore, stepped down from his position as Honorary Operations Secretary, which he had done for several years. At the Annual General Meeting, we welcomed Sue Heron as our new Honorary Secretary. Our retiring Secretary, Ian Smith did a sterling job for three years, and his knowledge and expertise was a major contribution to the smooth running of the Club. The Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 11 th March 2023, was well attended with the Clubhouse full and many people “streamed in”.

As ever, the Bacon Butties provided by Zoe were delicious and most welcome. Although the weather was not great, we managed to get a lot done and the grounds now look much better.

Thanks to those who attended the “Clean up day” which was on the 18 th March 2023. Already, the weather is improving, with the long range weather forecast for April, being a lot drier than March. Thanks to all of those who moved boats around to make sure that nothing got washed away. Please make sure all trailers are removed. It is expected that the Car Park will be cleared by Easter. This has led to a delay in getting the winter storage boats off the Car Park. In contrast to last year, March has been one of the wettest months on record, with the Lake regularly over the jetties.
